3 Vietnamese Destinations Named Among Southeast Asia’s Most Beautiful

August 25, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Ninh Binh’s Karst Landscapes Draw Praise

Vietnam’s Ninh Binh province, dubbed “Ha Long Bay on land” by Australian outlet Nine.com.au, ranks among Southeast Asia’s 15 most beautiful spots, according to August 2026 reports. The Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features winding rivers where visitors glide through low-hanging caves in hand-rowed bamboo boats. Neon-green rice fields, bordered by towering cliffs, frame the journey, which the outlet called a “breathtaking view” of Vietnam’s geological diversity.

Ha Giang Loop’s Rugged Beauty Captures Travelers’ Imagination

In northern Ha Giang, the Ha Giang Loop—a multi-day motorbike route—has become a magnet for adventurers. The website described the trail as “thrilling,” with riders navigating steep limestone peaks and remote valleys near the Chinese border. Ma Pi Leng, a section of the route, offers dramatic canyon vistas, though the area remains largely untouched by commercial development, preserving its raw, untamed allure.

Hoi An Ancient Town’s Timeless Charm Appeals to Global Visitors

Hoi An Ancient Town, a 15th-century trading port, earned acclaim for its UNESCO-listed architecture, including yellow-hued buildings and silk lanterns. Located south of Da Nang, the town’s narrow lanes and riverside charm attract both day-trippers and longer-stay visitors. Nine.com.au advised spending “a few days” to savor its culinary scene and coastal attractions along the Thu Bon River, highlighting its enduring appeal.

The Nine.com.au list also featured Malaysia’s Perhentian Islands, Indonesia’s Raja Ampat, and Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, underscoring the region’s varied attractions. Vietnam’s inclusion follows recent nods in travel publications, including Travel + Leisure, which named the country among top Gen Z destinations, and Food & Wine, which called its cuisine an “unforgettable journey.”
