2027 Vermont Creative Sector Legislative Preview: Dec 4
Vermont’s creative sector faces policy decisions during the upcoming 2027 legislative session, according to announcements by the Vermont Arts Council. Arts and culture leaders across the state are preparing for a targeted advocacy roadmap to address these legislative priorities before lawmakers convene.
Vermont Arts Council Prepares Policy Roadmap for 2027 Session
Planning for the legislative agenda centers on a specialized preview event scheduled for December 4, running from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The annual preview provides state cultural organizations with coordinated policy insights and outlines the specific advocacy priorities of the Vermont Creative Network. Susan Evans McClure, Executive Director of the Vermont Arts Council, will lead the discussions alongside other key cultural authorities.
The collaborative preview brings together multiple statewide institutions to establish a unified voice for creative economy funding and public programming. Christopher Kaufman Ilstrup, Executive Director of Vermont Humanities, and Steve Perkins, Executive Director of the Vermont Historical Society, will join the presentation. Rebecca Lewandowski, Manager of Government and Public Affairs at Downs Rachlin Martin, will provide analysis on the legislative mechanics and public policy environment shaping the upcoming session.
Participants Must Request Accommodations by November 19
Organizers have structured the December workshop to maintain comprehensive accessibility standards for all participating community members and arts leaders.
