2026 R48Pro Handball: LAAC Open – Results & Top Players
The World Players of Handball (WPH) is hosting the 2026 R48Pro Season 14 Stop #5 – LAAC Open at the Los Angeles Athletic Club (LAAC) from March 20-22, 2026. The event marks the 101st in the history of the Race 4 Eight tour.
The tournament features competition across multiple divisions, including R48, WR48, and SR48, according to WPHLiveTV. The LAAC Open is being powered by the WPH, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Foundation dedicated to the growth of the sport of handball, as noted on YouTube.
The US Handball Association collaborated with the WPH to present pre-qualifiers for the R48 and WR48 at the 2026 USHA National Collegiate Handball Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 22, 2026.
Prior to the LAAC Open, Pimentel secured a victory at the 2026 Oregon State Singles, as reported by WPHLiveTV. The event follows the conclusion of the first half of the 2025/26 Race 4 Eight season, which included stops in St. Louis and Tucson, Arizona.
The WPH has highlighted the emergence of Mark Doyle as a rising star in the sport, noting his advancement to the semifinals of the last two Race 4 Eight stops. Current R48 rankings, as of February 1, 2026, show Lucho Cordova at #2 and Martin Mulkerrins at #1.
The Race 4 Eight has held 100 professional men’s events, beginning with the Plummer Family Bash in 2011. Looking ahead, the USHA Hall of Fame & R48 Pre Qualifier is scheduled for April 10-12, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona.
