2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Luxury Redefined with New Design & Engines
Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled the redesigned 2027 S-Class, representing a significant update to the pinnacle of its luxury sedan lineup. The latest model boasts a more opulent aesthetic, enhanced technology, and a wider range of customization options, directly challenging rivals like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
The 2027 S-Class benefits from a comprehensive overhaul, with over 50 percent of its components revised or replaced, according to Mercedes-Benz. This refresh extends to the Maybach variant, inheriting the upgrades while adding its own distinct touches. The exterior features a significantly larger Maybach grille – 20 percent larger than the previous iteration – with integrated illumination, and an optional, illuminated Mercedes star hood ornament. A two-tone paint scheme and uniquely sculpted taillights further distinguish the Maybach S-Class.
Subtle design elements, including rose gold accents outlining the headlights and a chrome Maybach pattern on the front fascia, contribute to the vehicle’s exclusive appearance. Customers can choose between 20-inch polished forged wheels or 21-inch MANUFAKTUR wheels with gold accents. Automatic comfort doors and illuminated side sills projecting the Maybach name add to the vehicle’s sense of occasion.
Inside, the new S-Class prioritizes a serene and customizable experience. Enhanced noise suppression and cabin insulation create a quiet atmosphere, complemented by Active Ambient Lighting and the new MBUX Superscreen. The MBUX Virtual Assistant, powered by artificial intelligence, provides an intuitive interface for vehicle controls and information. An optional rear refrigerated compartment and silver-plated Robbe & Berking champagne flutes cater to discerning passengers.
A key element of the Maybach experience is personalization. The new MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure program offers an unprecedented level of customization, with over 150 exterior paint colors and 400 interior upholstery options. This allows customers to create a truly unique vehicle tailored to their individual preferences.
The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be available with a choice of three powertrains: a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six hybrid producing 537 horsepower, a 612-horsepower V8, and a 612-horsepower V12 engine. The availability of each engine option will vary depending on the market. The V8 engine is a new Twin-Turbo M177 EVO with micro-hybrid technology. The V12 utilizes a 6.0-liter Twin-Turbo M279 engine without electrification.
The vehicle incorporates advanced technology, including the Hyperscreen interface, the MB.OS operating system, adaptive LED lighting, executive rear seats, and a predictive AIRMATIC air suspension system utilizing Car-To-X technology. Exterior cameras, positioned behind the front wheels, are also a notable feature.
