2026 Honda CB750 Hornet: Specs, Review & E-Clutch Details | Insella
Honda CB750 Hornet Receives Electronic Clutch Upgrade for 2026
Honda is equipping its CB750 Hornet motorcycle with an electronic clutch (E-Clutch) for the 2026 model year, building on updates made to the bike last year. The fresh feature aims to simplify the riding experience, particularly in urban environments, and offers benefits for both novice and experienced riders.
The CB750 Hornet, reintroduced in 2023, has quickly become a popular choice in the middleweight naked bike segment, sharing a platform with the Honda Transalp 750. The 755cc parallel-twin engine produces 90.5 bhp and 75 Nm of torque, and the bike weighs 191 kg. The Hornet is known for its maneuverability and accessible 795mm seat height.
The E-Clutch system utilizes two actuators to automate clutch engagement and disengagement, responding to data from the bike’s control unit. This iteration of the E-Clutch, also being implemented on the Transalp, represents an advancement over previous versions found on the CB and CBR 650 models. The integration with throttle-by-wire technology allows for more precise and refined control.
Honda has also announced new color schemes for the 2026 CB750 Hornet, including Graphite Black, Wolf Silver Metallic, Goldfinch Yellow, and Matte Jeans Blue Metallic. A standard equipment puntal engine guard will also be included.
Riders who tested the updated Hornet praised the system’s ease of use, particularly in stop-and-go traffic. The E-Clutch eliminates the need to manually operate the clutch lever during starts, stops, and gear changes, reducing rider fatigue. The system also provides smoother transitions during gear changes, even at higher engine speeds.
The 2026 CB750 Hornet will be available in dealerships beginning in April. Pricing is expected to be approximately 8,090 euros.
