PSAC Football Week 2 Features Top-10 Clash, Homecoming Matchup
The second week of the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) football season is set to kick off this saturday, September 13, highlighted by a matchup between No. 10 California (Pa.) and West Chester at 12 PM. Several other key contests are scheduled, including Glenville State’s visit to millersville, also at 12 PM, and Shepherd’s 6 PM showdown at Slippery Rock.
California (Pa.): The Vulcans climbed four spots to No. 10 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 Poll following a 23-19 Week 1 victory over Charleston. This marks Cal’s first appearance in the Top 10 since 2021.
Millersville: The Marauders hold a 5-3 all-time record against current MEC member teams, boasting a perfect 4-0 record against Glenville State.
Bloomsburg: The Huskies opened their season with a narrow 41-40 overtime loss to Fairmont State last Thursday.seton Hill: Defensive back Darius Patterson earned PSAC Western Division Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week honors after recording two interceptions, one of which he returned 74 yards for a touchdown.
Shippensburg: Linebacker Nate Myers led all players with a career-high 13 tackles, including a 13-yard sack and another tackle-for-loss.
Clarion: The Golden Eagles’ offense was powered by four rushing touchdowns and a dominant ground game that amassed 306 yards.
Kutztown: Jaedyn Stewart was named PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week after totaling 197 yards of total offense, including 47 receiving yards on two catches.Edinboro: Jaret Frantz caught three touchdown passes, leading the Fighting Scots to a 29-14 victory over East Stroudsburg and securing head coach Matt Scott’s first win.
East Stroudsburg: The Warriors forced three Pace turnovers (all fumbles) and limited the Setters to 67 rushing yards, 12-for-20 passing for 100 yards, and 11 first downs.
Gannon: The Golden Knights aim to extend a streak of seven consecutive Homecoming wins dating back to 2017.
Lock Haven: Running back Damir Green scored two touchdowns, both achieved through individual efforts.
IUP: Quarterback Matthew Rueve completed 13 of 23 passes for 221 yards,averaging 17 yards per completion.
Shepherd: Linebackers Devin Harper and defensive lineman Nathan Muhle each recorded a team-high eight tackles.
Slippery Rock: The Rock extended their streak of consecutive season-opening wins to 16 with a victory last week.
