Vols Finish Sixth at Fallen Oak collegiate Invitational

PACIFIC SPRINGS, Miss. – The University of Tennessee men’s golf team‌ concluded play Tuesday at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, securing a sixth-place⁤ finish among a competitive field. The Volunteers posted a team score of -14, trailing co-leaders Alabama and LSU by 18 strokes.

The tournament, held at the Grand Reserve⁤ Golf Club in⁤ Pacific ‌Springs, Mississippi, marked the end of the fall season for‌ Tennessee. The result provides ⁤a benchmark for the team’s progress as it prepares for a spring schedule beginning February 9th at the Puerto Rico Classic. Individual performances highlighted the week, with Lance Simpson leading the way for ⁣the vols.

Simpson carded a final-round 70 to finish at 6-under par (210), tying ​for ninth​ place ⁣overall. ‍Josh Hill followed⁣ with a -4 (212) after a final-round⁤ 69,⁣ securing‍ a tie for 13th. Chase Kyes finished at 2-under (214) and​ tied for 23rd after a third-round 71. ⁢

Reed Lotter and Jackson Herrington both finished at even-par (216), tying for 34th place. ⁤Luke Smith rounded out the Tennessee contingent, ‌tying for 54th with a total score of +5 (221).
