Munich – TSV 1860 Munich President Michael mang defended the recent dismissals of managing ⁢director Christian Werner ‌and head coach⁤ Patrick Glöckner,stating​ a pattern of “neglect” across the club contributed to⁤ the decisions.the comments came ⁣during a press conference addressing the notable ⁤restructuring underway at the historic⁣ football club.

Mang‍ emphasized the separations weren’t solely about⁤ on-field⁣ performance, but encompassed a broader assessment of the club’s leadership and direction. “It’s not just about ​the team, ⁢it’s‍ about ​the entire club, the ‌way the club leads,” Mang explained. “We ⁤put a lot on the boys, ⁤you just neglected. Many puzzle stones came‌ together,⁣ mosaic⁤ stones came⁣ together and that has caused us to make this decision.” He indicated Werner’s departure was “indicated” and followed extensive internal and external discussions, including input from ​the club’s co-shareholder.

The dismissal of ⁤coach Glöckner followed poor results and a⁢ perceived lack ‍of progress. “There were simply not the ‍results, but also the‌ way,” Mang said, adding the decision to make a change after the Aue game was “a right decision for us.” He reported the team‌ remains “intact, is hot, hungry, it wants to go forward.”

As part of a complete organizational overhaul, 1860 Munich plans to‍ appoint a commercial manager focused on finances ⁣and licensing, a sports‍ director, ⁤and a ⁤technical director to oversee youth development – a core tenet of the club’s identity.

Looking ⁣ahead,⁢ Mang outlined the profile of the‍ new head coach, stating they must be a “seasoned ⁤professional” ⁣familiar with⁣ the third division and Bundesliga, with a key emphasis ​on integrating youth players.While rumors surrounding Thomas Wörle⁤ have surfaced, Mang declined to comment on specific candidates.
