118 Mall opens at Menara 118 in Kuala Lumpur
The 118 Mall officially opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur, situated at the base of the Menara 118 skyscraper. The seven-storey retail destination represents a new expansion of the Merdeka 118 precinct, integrating commercial, hospitality, and retail offerings in the heart of the capital.
Although the mall was scheduled to open at 11:18 am in a symbolic nod to the skyscraper, eager visitors were allowed in earlier around 10:30 am ahead of the official opening ceremony. With 158 stores operating at the launch, leadership reported strong leasing momentum.
Opening Day Crowds and Attractions
Early visitors arrived hours before the official opening to explore the shops and secure promotional offers. Administrative executive Lim Jit Hong queued to take advantage of tenant promotions, including a free quarter chicken offer from Nando’s for the first 118 customers and Boost Juice deals. Meanwhile, civil servant Maizatul Akma noted that the venue provides a new spot to visit following her weekend jogging routine at nearby Stadium Merdeka. Visitors also highlighted features such as the “Raincloud,” a multi-level water feature with projected light displays.

PNB Leadership Aims to Improve Kuala Lumpur Retail Offerings
PNB president and group chief executive Datuk Rizal Rickman Ramli stated in his opening speech that the development was designed to reflect the group's values and improve Kuala Lumpur's retail offerings rather than function as just another shopping center. Also present at the opening ceremony were PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd chief executive Datuk Izwan Hasli Ibrahim and PNB group chairman Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda.
Management expects more stores to come on board in the coming months, reflecting growing retailer confidence in the premier destination. However, the exact total number of future stores slated to open beyond the initial 158 operating shops remains unspecified.
