Fargo Resident Claims $100,000 Powerball Prize
A Powerball ticket sold in Fargo is worth $100,000, the North Dakota Lottery announced Thursday. The winning ticket, drawn Wednesday, Sept. 3,matched four white ball numbers and the Powerball,with a Power Play multiplier of two doubling the initial $50,000 prize.
This win marks the third recent substantial payout for North Dakota lottery players, following a $50,000 Powerball win on Aug. 23 and a “Lucky for Life” prize of $25,000 a year for life awarded in early August. The lucky ticket was purchased at Don’s car Wash,which will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The winner has 180 days from the drawing date too claim their prize at the North Dakota Lottery office.According to North Dakota Lottery Director Thomas Lawler, “This win is the third in a recent string of victories for North Dakota Lottery players.”
Elsewhere in the region,winning Powerball tickets where also sold in the Twin cities area of Minnesota. One minnesota player won $1 million by matching five numbers, and another won $50,000.
The Powerball jackpot continues to climb, reaching an estimated $1.7 billion for the next drawing on Saturday, Sept. 6.This represents the third-highest jackpot in U.S. history,according to the Powerball website.
