On a Thursday afternoon, a tragic incident unfolded in the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles when a 91-year-old female driver crashed her vehicle into a parking attendant stand and a group of pedestrians in a Trader Joe’s parking lot, leaving one person dead and four others injured, according to local authorities.
Incident Details at 7900 W. Third Street
The collision occurred at approximately 1:21 p.m. on Thursday at 7900 W. Third Street, just west of Fairfax Avenue and across from The Original Farmers Market, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Witnesses reported to local media that the driver lost control upon entering the lot, struck a parked vehicle, and then swerved into a group of people before pinning against a partially crushed structure.
One woman was pronounced dead at the scene, with her identity withheld pending notification by the coroner’s office. Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Cody Weireter told reporters that the victim who died was a woman likely in her 30s. Four other individuals, including the elderly driver, were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
