A new chapter in the world of E. Lockhart’s bestselling novels is coming to Prime Video. Following the success of We Were Liars, the streaming service is moving forward with a follow-up series, titled We Fell Apart. While details remain limited, the series will introduce a new cast of characters and a fresh mystery, while also featuring a significant link to the original story’s iconic location.
The series centers on Matilda, who travels to spend the summer at Hidden Beach hoping to connect with her reclusive artist father, Kingsley Cello. upon arrival, she discovers he is absent and instead encounters her half-brother, former child star Brock (Meer), and a brooding young man named Tatum. Lockhart has confirmed the new series “can be read alone,” but will appeal to fans of We Were Liars as the characters “trespass over on Beechwood Island.”
Currently, it is unclear weather We Fell Apart will be considered a direct spin-off or a potential “season three” continuation of the We Were Liars adaptation.
