Married At First Sight Australia contestant Brook Crompton is expecting a child, but not with her on-screen husband, Chris Nield. The Gold Coast model is engaged to her former partner and is expecting their first child together, according to reports.
Crompton announced her pregnancy in February, revealing she had reunited with her ex-partner, Harry, after filming for the reality television show concluded. The couple subsequently became engaged.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Crompton wrote, “Baby boy on the way, and a forever with you. To our little boy, you’ve already filled our world with so much hope, and love. The past year, and especially these last few months, have taught me more than I ever imagined about patience, love, and the person I want to be.”
She continued, “I’ve dreamed of being a mother for as long as I can remember, and sharing this journey with the person I love most makes it even more special.” Crompton also expressed her gratitude to her fiancé, Harry, stating, “Harry, you are my rock, my safe place, and my heart. Thank you for making my dreams come true and for showing me what family truly feels like. I can’t wait to watch you become the father I know you’ll be, kind, strong, and full of love.”
The news of Crompton’s pregnancy comes as her marriage to Chris Nield plays out on Australian television. In scenes that have already aired, Nield revealed that Crompton had left the experiment, stating she was “following her mind and her heart.” He also expressed his belief that she “wasn’t in the right place for a new relationship,” adding in November that discovering she had slept with her ex two days before their wedding led him to believe she wasn’t ready for commitment.
Crompton later told Women’s Day, “I guess it made me realise how amazing Harry is. He’s nothing like that person I married on MAFS.”
