Best Buy is currently offering a promotion of free $50 store credit with the purchase of the new MacBook Neo for its paid members, whereas Amazon is offering modest $10 price reductions. Best Buy is listing “excellent” condition open-box models of the MacBook Neo with discounts of up to $52 off the standard retail price.
The most significant savings on open-box units appear to be concentrated on the 512GB models. Best Buy’s Geek Squad Certified open-box program guarantees that the laptops “work and look like new,” have been restored to factory settings, include all original parts and accessories (though packaging may be absent), and are backed by a one-year Apple warranty.
Shipping delays directly from Apple for the new MacBook Neo have extended to two to three weeks, according to recent reports. This may produce purchasing through Amazon, even with limited discounts, or through Best Buy a more attractive option for consumers seeking immediate availability.
The MacBook Neo features Apple’s A18 Pro chip, designed for AI and Apple Intelligence applications, and boasts a 13-inch Liquid Retina display. Apple advertises up to 16 hours of battery life and a durable aluminum design available in four colors. The laptop is positioned as an affordable entry point into the Mac ecosystem.
According to Amazon, the MacBook Neo with the A18 Pro chip includes 8GB of unified memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. Best Buy’s website also lists models with 512GB SSD storage options.
