Apple Prepares Major Health and AI Overhaul with iOS 27
Cupertino,CA – March 31,2025 – Apple is gearing up for a considerable update to its Health app and a meaningful push into AI-powered search with the upcoming iOS 27 release,currently slated for release this fall. The company is reportedly developing an AI platform designed to analyze data from the Health app and Apple Watch, aiming to provide users with personalized health insights akin to having a virtual doctor. Together, Apple is building a new web search platform, internally called World Knowledge Answers, to compete with AI-driven search engines like Perplexity.
The new health app functionality will leverage the wealth of data already collected by iPhones and Apple Watches. Bloomberg reports Apple intends to “replicate” a real doctor using an AI agent, interpreting metrics and offering tailored guidance. Beyond data analysis, the updated app will also reportedly feature videos explaining health trends to users, enhancing understanding and engagement.
Apple’s foray into AI extends beyond health. the company is actively developing an AI-powered web search platform intended to rival competitors. This platform, known internally as Apple’s World Knowledge Answers, is designed to deliver more intelligent and extensive search results.
While these features are currently in advancement, Apple has approximately seven months before the official iOS 27 announcement. The company may refine, remove, or add features as the release date approaches.
