GTA 6 Release Date in Doubt? Potential Delay Looms, Says Insider
Rumors suggest Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive may miss the announced release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, a project reportedly costing over $1 billion. According to industry insider Tom Henderson, the potential delay stems from the game’s massive scale – exceeding even Grand Theft Auto V wich originally launched in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Henderson notes that larger, more detailed games inevitably contain bugs and malfunctions requiring extensive correction. While Rockstar Games is known for its “surgical precision and maniacal attention to detail,” a further delay to minimize issues isn’t being ruled out.
Despite the concerns,a 2026 release remains the target, with the “bulk of work” already completed. Though, a slip of ”some further months” is absolutely possible. The developers aim to deliver a polished product, potentially justifying a standard price of 100 euros – a potential precedent in video game pricing history – and avoiding the need for considerable post-launch patches.
