Atreyu Posts ”RIP“ Across social media, Fueling Band Future Speculation
Yorba Linda, CA – Metalcore band Atreyu has sparked concern among fans after posting a black square image with the word “RIP” across all of its official social media accounts - Instagram, Facebook, and X – and altering its Instagram biography to simply read “RIP.” The sudden change has ignited speculation regarding the band’s future.
Founded in 1998, Atreyu currently consists of vocalist Brandon Saller, guitarist Dan Jacobs, bassist and vocalist Marc “Porter” McKnight, guitarist Travis Miguel, and drummer Kyle Rosa. The group recently released a re-recorded version of thier 2004 album, The Curse, on August 1, 2025, featuring Saller and McKnight on vocals, replacing original vocalists Alex Varkatzas and Saller. The re-release was met with positive reception from fans.
The social media activity arrives as Atreyu is scheduled to embark on ”The Curse 21st Anniversary” tour in November 2025, featuring support from Unearth, Norma Jean, Eighteen Visions, He Is Legend, and Zero. As of today, there has been no official proclamation regarding the status of the tour.
The meaning behind the ”RIP” posts remains unclear, leaving fans and industry observers awaiting further information from the band.
