Penn Women’s ⁢Cross⁤ Country Finishes Eighth at ⁤Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM,Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania women’s cross country team secured an eighth-place finish out of 40 teams at the Paul Short Run​ held on‌ October ⁤3, 2025, at Lehigh University’s Goodman Campus. Competing against a field of 352 ⁤athletes⁣ in the Gold race, the Quakers demonstrated strong individual performances and team cohesion.

The‍ Paul short Run is a meaningful early-season test for collegiate cross ​country programs, providing a benchmark for progress and a preview‍ of championship-level competition. This year’s showing‌ for Penn‌ indicates⁢ continued development within the programme as⁣ it prepares for the upcoming Ivy league season and regional championships.

Lily Murphy led⁤ the‍ Quakers, completing the 6k course in 20:01.0 to finish⁤ 10th overall.Lara Cota ⁣followed closely ⁤behind, crossing ⁣the finish line in 20:51.7 for 55th place. Gabby Jones was ⁣right on‍ her heels, securing 56th with a time of 20:51.9. Anna Weirich finished in 20:56.5,claiming 62nd,while⁢ Izzy Rodriguez rounded out the scoring⁣ runners in 99th place with a time⁣ of 21:17.1.

On the ⁣men’s ​side, the Quakers finished 24th ⁣of 40 teams in the Gold race, ⁢comprised of 354 runners. Kofi Fordjour paced the ⁢Penn men, finishing 83rd overall with a time of ⁢21:19.7. George keen completed the 8k ⁢in 24:27.0 (139th), followed by Shane Murphy (24:47.7,142nd),Shamus Larnard (24:29.1,⁢ 149th), and Liam Going⁣ (24:53.6, 159th).
