Windows 11 25H2 Update Begins Rollout with Refinements to Copilot, Taskbar, and More
Microsoft has initiated the deployment of Windows 11 25H2, its latest annual feature update. While not a radical overhaul, the update delivers a series of improvements and new features focused on enhancing existing functionality and user experience. The rollout will occur in phases over the coming weeks, reaching all compatible Windows 11 devices.
Unlike previous major updates, 25H2 doesn’t introduce significant changes to the Windows core. Rather, Microsoft has concentrated on refining existing tools and adding subtle enhancements across the operating system. Key improvements center around the Copilot AI assistant, the taskbar, and system management options.

* Copilot Enhancements: The Copilot interface has been redesigned for quicker access to frequently used features like recent captures and websites. A new tutorial guides users thru the service’s capabilities, and a natural language search field allows for easier navigation of Windows settings.
* Taskbar Updates: The clock on the taskbar now displays seconds. Search functionality for local files has been improved, and a built-in internet speed test tool is now available.
* App Management: Windows 11 Pro users can now uninstall preinstalled microsoft applications, offering greater control over system bloatware.
* Connectivity: Support for Wi-Fi 7 has been added for enterprise connectivity.
Installation:
The update is being rolled out gradually, so it may not be immediatly available on all devices. Microsoft states the installation process is fast, as the necessary packages are already present within Windows 11 24H2; the 25H2 update simply activates them. Users can expedite the process by enabling the “Receive the latest updates as soon as they are available” option within Windows Update settings.
