SpaceX marked a critically important milestone today, October 31, 2025, with the launch of its 100th dedicated Starlink mission of the year. A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from California, carrying 28 Starlink satellites to orbit. This launch underscores SpaceX’s rapid expansion of its satellite internet constellation and its continued dominance in launch frequency.
the sheer volume of launches highlights SpaceX’s commitment to building out Starlink, a service aimed at providing high-speed, low-latency internet access globally, particularly to underserved areas. As of today, SpaceX has conducted 138 falcon 9 missions in 2025, with Starlink deployments accounting for 99 of those flights. This aggressive launch cadence is crucial for meeting growing demand and expanding the network’s coverage.
The Falcon 9’s first stage booster, designated 1063, successfully returned to Earth approximately 8.5 minutes after launch, landing on the SpaceX drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” in the Pacific Ocean. This was the 29th flight for booster 1063, nearing the Falcon 9 reuse record of 31 flights.
Following stage separation, the Falcon 9’s upper stage will continue to deploy the 29 Starlink satellites to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), a process expected to be completed about an hour after liftoff. These satellites will join the existing constellation, further enhancing Starlink’s capacity and service availability.
