mar del Plata Hosts Thorough Women’s Health Day
Mar del Plata, Argentina – A day dedicated too women’s health and well-being, “October with women’s Air,” drew a critically important crowd this week, offering a diverse range of presentations and resources focused on preventative care and holistic health. The event, organized with a focus beyond customary vascular health concerns, aimed to address often-overlooked aspects of women’s overall wellness.
The initiative comes at a critical time, as women often prioritize the health of others before their own, sometimes neglecting preventative screenings and self-care.Organizers emphasized the importance of addressing not only physical health but also emotional and psychological well-being. “We wanted to go beyond forgetting vascular health and disease prevention,but also issues related to general well-being,” the organizer stated.
The day’s program, led by Mariana Gérez, featured a series of talks beginning with “Ultrasound in prenatal diagnosis” presented by Dr. Guillermo Cayrol and his team. subsequent presentations included Dr. Gabriela Ferrero of the Colón clinic discussing “Importance of breastfeeding in health and modern life,” and Dr. Camila Ramundo from MDQ Images addressing “Breast Health.”
Attendees had the opportunity to visit informational stands during an intermission, learning about vaccination schedules, breast self-exams, and the work of “Rosas del Mar,” a support group for breast cancer survivors dedicated to awareness and promoting activities like rowing.
The afternoon sessions covered a broad spectrum of topics,including “A new stage: climacteric” with Dr. María del Carmen Berdeja, “Endometriosis, myomatosis and prevention of frequent cancers” by Dr. Christian Medina of the Colón clinic, and “Varicose veins: understanding venous pathology” led by Dr. Lucas Ramundo. Presentations also included insights on skincare from Sabina Valenti and a discussion on plastic surgery, self-esteem, and duty with Dr. Ernesto Parellada.
Further talks focused on reproductive health with Dr. Manuela Lebrero from Crecer presenting on “Your future, your decision: preserve your fertility by freezing your eggs,” followed by “Aesthetic medicine: aging, science and prevention” by Dr. Mayra Díaz, and “Skin care and social protection” with Dr. Celina Formica from the Andrómaco laboratory.
The event concluded with an artistic intervention titled “All women take care of our breasts… A journey through our bodies and gestures” by artist Leonor Inés Pisanchi,emphasizing the connection between emotional and physical health.
