## Jets Safety Andre Cisco to Undergo Surgery, Faces Indefinite Absence
Jets safety Andre Cisco will undergo surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle sustained during the teamS Week 8 victory over the Bengals, sources confirmed Tuesday night. The injury will sideline Cisco indefinitely, delivering a significant blow to the Jets’ secondary.
Cisco, who signed a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the Jets this offseason, had started all eight games this season, recording 41 tackles and one pass defended. While Pro Football Focus grades him 51st out of 88 qualifying safeties, his absence creates a void in the Jets’ defensive backfield and impacts their depth.
The 25-year-old Cisco had been seeking his first interception with the Jets after recording eight interceptions over the previous three seasons with the Jaguars.
With Cisco out, Tony Adams and Isaiah Oliver, currently listed as backups on the Jets’ depth chart, are expected to see increased playing time, possibly begining when the Jets return from their bye week in Week 10 against the Browns.
