NVIDIA Commits $25 Million to Expand AI Education in U.S. K-12 schools
SANTA CLARA, CA – July 25, 2024 - NVIDIA today announced a $25 million investment to bring artificial intelligence education to K-12 classrooms across the United States, partnering with learning platforms Study Fetch and CK-12 to adapt its professional-level training content for high school students. The initiative directly supports the White house’s recent executive order focused on advancing AI literacy for American youth and a broader pledge to invest in AI education.
The funding will focus on curriculum adaptation, platform integration, educator training, and outreach, with a goal of reaching one million K-12 students within three years. NVIDIA will leverage its Deep Learning Institute (DLI) and NVIDIA Academy content, curated by Study Fetch and CK-12, to provide hands-on AI experience and prepare students for the evolving job market.
This commitment builds on NVIDIA’s larger $125 million investment in higher education and academic research within the U.S. and a recent $152 million joint commitment with the National Science Foundation to Ai2 for the progress of open AI models. The move aligns with the White House’s “Winning the AI Race: America’s AI Action Plan,” unveiled in July, which includes executive orders to accelerate data center infrastructure and promote the export of American AI technology.NVIDIA signed the White House’s Pledge to America’s Youth: Investing in AI Education in April, committing to deliver AI literacy, credentialing, and educator enablement. The company’s DLI courses, traditionally geared toward professional developers, will be modified through the partnerships to spark curiosity and build practical skills in high school students.
