Guadalajara, Mexico – The North Central Volleyball Association (NCVA) convened its annual meeting this Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Guadalajara, Mexico, coinciding with the Final Six Women’s Tournament of Norceca.
The meeting,led by Norceca President Cristóbal marte Hoffiz and NCVA President/Volleyball Canada CEO Mark Eckert,focused on strengthening high-performance volleyball competition within the region. Attendees included presidents from national federations, such as john speraw, CEO of the US Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation (participating virtually), and Mark Eckert representing Canada. Also present were Ariel Sainz Rodríguez, first vice president of Northca, and arrateide Cáceres, General Manager of Norceca.
discussions centered on several key strategic initiatives. These included updates to criteria for world ranking point allocation, considering both zonal and confederative events; a review of the NCVA’s constitution and Board of directors; and approval of event calendars for 2026-2028, encompassing both indoor and beach volleyball, age category regulations, and a rotating headquarters schedule. Principles for the multiannual assignment of event headquarters were also presented.
Further topics addressed included the FIVB’s Volleyball Empowerment programme and preparations for a potential candidacy to host the 2027 Women’s World Championship, emphasizing the importance of regional representation in premier international competitions.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continued collaboration among national federations to foster volleyball growth across all disciplines.
