Hildesheim, Germany - September 26, 2023 – While undergoing extensive renovations, marienburg Castle is still accessible – virtually. Hildesheim Marketing GmbH today launched a new landing page featuring a 360-degree virtual tour of the iconic neo-Gothic landmark, developed by Hannover Marketing and Tourismus GmbH (HMTG). The move coincides with the November premiere of the second season of the popular Maxton Hall series, which again utilized the castle as a key filming location.
The virtual tour allows visitors to explore the castle’s halls, chapel, and kitchen, offering an immersive experience of one of Germany’s most critically important neo-Gothic structures during its temporary closure. High-resolution panoramic recordings created by HMTG are now available on the Hildesheim marketing website.
“Especially because of the long-term collaboration with Hildesheim Marketing, I am very pleased that the virtual tour is also played in Hildesheim. Marienburg Castle is a connecting element between the Hildesheim and Hanover regions – and this common offer makes it clear,” said Hans Christian Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing and Tourismus GmbH.
Fritz S. Ahrberg, Managing Director of Hildesheim Marketing GmbH, added, “The new landing page offers great insights into the Marienburg Castle and makes the historic building digitally tangible. We are very happy to be able to enable this experience - especially in the time when the castle itself is not accessible due to the renovation. This means that the doors to the castle remain at least virtually.”
