Trump Receives Unprecedented Ceremonial Welcome in UK
WINDSOR, England – Former President Donald Trump is receiving a state visit in the United Kingdom, marked by an unusually elaborate ceremonial welcome hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle. The visit,unfolding today,september 17,2025,features a display of military precision and pageantry described as “unprecedented” by the UK Ministry of Defense.
This state visit underscores the enduring,though often complex,relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. The procession included two Ascot Landau carriages carrying US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Treasury secretary Scott Bessent, Trump’s foreign envoy Steve witkoff, his chief of staff Susie Wiles, and additional White House staff.
A total of 1,300 members of the British military and 120 horses are participating in the ceremonial events. The processional route is lined by 22 half-companies comprised of personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army, and Royal Air Force.
Musical accompaniment is being provided by the Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Central Band of the Royal Air force as personnel march into position along the route.
