Katy Perry Shares Photos wiht Justin Trudeau During Japan Tour Stop
TOKYO – Pop star Katy Perry posted a carousel of images on Instagram documenting her time in Tokyo as part of her global Lifetimes Tour, including several photos featuring former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.The images, shared on may 17, 2024, show Perry and Trudeau smiling for a selfie with their faces close together, and enjoying a meal of sushi.
the photos have further fueled speculation about a romantic relationship between the two, which began circulating after they were photographed holding hands in Paris last month, coinciding with Perry’s 41st birthday. Prior too that, Trudeau was seen attending Perry’s concert earlier this year.
Neither Perry nor Trudeau have publicly commented on the nature of their relationship. However, Trudeau reposted a photograph of the pair alongside former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, on X earlier this week. He wrote, “Great to see you @kishida230. katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko.Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”
During a recent London concert, Perry alluded to her relationship status, joking after a fan’s proposal, ”I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago.”
Perry was previously in a decade-long relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, and the pair share a daughter. They separated over the summer. Trudeau served as prime minister of Canada from 2015 to 2025 and was married to Sophie Grégoire for 18 years before their split in the summer of 2023; they share three children.
