Taiwan to Roll Out trivalent Influenza Vaccines Next Month
Taiwan will fully transition to trivalent influenza vaccines for its publicly-funded vaccination program next month, aligning with international standards, the Department of Disease Control announced. The change aims to provide broader protection against circulating influenza strains.
This year’s shift to a trivalent vaccine – containing protection against three influenza strains instead of the previous quadrivalent (four strains) – comes as global health authorities have observed certain strains becoming less prevalent. All publicly paid vaccines undergo rigorous review to ensure safety and quality, officials emphasized. Parents of students can indicate their vaccination intention via a convenient online system utilizing a QR code or direct link to an exclusive page, with options for updates before a specified deadline, or a traditional paper-based method for those preferring it.
according to Zeng Shuhui, the online system allows for easy updates to vaccination intentions, reducing administrative burdens. The Department of Disease Control stated vaccines will be distributed on a “first-arrival,first-distribution,first-use” basis. For more information, visit the Free Health network at https://health.ltn.com.tw/ or the Department of Disease Control’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/healthLTN/.
