Free Space Puzzle Game: Star Blobs on Sale Now!

The cooperative space exploration puzzle game, SERPENT (星塊蛇航), originally priced at US $4.99, is currently available for free on iOS devices, according to a report from newmobilelife.com on March 20, 2026.

Developed by Tsz Chung Chau, SERPENT blends the mechanics of the classic game Snake with block puzzle elements. The game is designed for two players, requiring local co-op on a single iPhone or iPad. Players assume the roles of a Space Fleet Commander and a Base Battlefield Commander, working together to save humanity from a collapsing Earth.

The Space Fleet Commander navigates planets, collecting resources, while the Base Battlefield Commander places resource containers – represented as blocks – to build colonies. Successful progression requires both players to coordinate effectively; the fleet must collect at least one resource and the base commander must clear a full row of blocks. The game features over 30 levels and is visually styled with Japanese anime aesthetics.

According to the game’s description on the App Store, Earth faces collapse due to overpopulation, pollution, and resource depletion, making the search for habitable planets a matter of survival. Players must ensure the fleet avoids collisions with resource containers and the boundaries of the game area, while simultaneously maximizing resource collection and planning colonial development.

SERPENT requires 31.7 MB of storage space on iOS devices and is designed for iPad as well as iPhone. The game is available for download on the App Store.
