Forza Motorsport: End of Development & Limited Future

Forza Motorsport Development Effectively Halted, Future of Xbox Racing Franchise in Doubt

REDMOND, WA – New content updates for Forza Motorsport will cease beyond December 2025, consisting solely of recycled challenges and returning vehicles, Turn 10 Studios has revealed, signaling a dramatic pullback from ongoing development and raising concerns about the long-term viability of the Xbox racing franchise. The declaration follows the recent dismissal of approximately 70% of the Turn 10 team.

The scaling back of forza Motorsport development impacts a dedicated player base and casts a shadow over Microsoft’s commitment to core racing titles on Xbox. While Microsoft has remained silent on the future of the franchise, the lack of new features, coupled with the absence of bug fixes in the forthcoming Update 22, strongly suggests development has largely concluded. This effectively ends any expectation of substantial new content for Forza Motorsport in 2026.

According to a post on the official Forza forums, October will see a re-run of the Endurance Tour, followed by the BMW Tour in November and the Contemporary Tour in December. These events will feature vehicles previously available during their initial runs. The only new addition will be Rivals challenges sponsored by Logitech.

Turn 10 confirmed that update 22 will not include any bug fixes, a striking omission that underscores the limited scope of remaining development efforts. Microsoft has not publicly addressed the situation, leaving the future of Forza Motorsport-and potentially the broader Xbox racing portfolio-uncertain.
