Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2: Release Date, Map, Weapons & New Features

Epic Games launched the “Showdown” season of Fortnite on Friday, bringing back Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as The Foundation and introducing Bugs Bunny as a playable character, according to a press release and accompanying artwork.

The new season, Chapter 7 Season 2, features a battle pass with eight new skins, including the return of The Ice King, Jules, and The Order, alongside Bugs Bunny. Players can purchase the battle pass for 1,000 V-Bucks, or access it through a Fortnite Crew subscription. A bonus Outfit Style for The Foundation is available to those who purchase the Battle Pass before March 26th at 11:59 PM ET.

The storyline pits The Foundation against the resurrected Ice King, marking a return to the game’s older narrative roots. Epic Games has been teasing The Foundation’s return for years, anticipating a significant event for followers of Fortnite lore. The battle pass also includes a new version of Jules, a popular character from Chapter 2, and a new ice troll sidekick pet.

The arrival of the new season follows recent changes to Fortnite’s in-game currency, V-Bucks, which now cost more and are distributed more sparingly within battle passes, impacting both standard players and Fortnite Crew subscribers. Epic Games may be hoping the high-profile character lineup will mitigate fan dissatisfaction with these changes.

Looney Tunes characters are also expected to appear in the item shop, with reports suggesting that Daffy Duck and Lola Bunny will be available for separate purchase.

The Exalted Ice King outfit is available upon purchase of the Battle Pass, with additional rewards, including the Exalted Scepter Pickaxe and Frostmare Chariot Glider, unlocked by gaining levels. Players can also earn V-Bucks and loading screens as they progress through the battle pass.
