Linwu County, Hunan Province – A groundbreaking discovery in central China is poised too considerably impact the global energy landscape. The Hunan Provincial Natural Resources Department has announced the identification of a substantial lithium ore deposit estimated at 490 million tons within the Jijiaoshan mining area of Linwu County.
The newly discovered reserve is categorized as an altered granite-type deposit, containing approximately 1.31 million tons of lithium oxide – a key component in the production of lithium-ion batteries. Beyond lithium, the deposit also holds valuable quantities of rubidium, tungsten, and tin, adding to its economic importance.
This find culminates years of dedicated research by the Hunan Province Mineral Resources Research Institute. “This reserve will be a major boon to the new energy industry in Chenzhou city, and particularly in Linwu County,” stated Professor Xu Yiming of the Hunan Province Mineral Resources Research Institute.
