CANWNT Roster Revealed for November Showdown Against Japan

Vancouver, BC – November 14, 2023 – Canada Soccer announced today the 23-player roster for the upcoming November series against Japan, featuring two international amiable matches scheduled for November 24th and 27th at BC Place in Vancouver, british Columbia.The series serves as crucial preparation for the Canadian Women’s National Team as they build towards the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

This pair of matches represents a meaningful chance for Canada to test its squad against a top-ranked opponent in Japan, currently ranked 11th in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings. The November series allows Head Coach Bev Priestman to evaluate players and refine tactical approaches ahead of the Olympic qualifying tournament and the Games themselves. The matches will also provide valuable competitive minutes for key players following the recent FIFA Women’s world Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

The roster includes seasoned veterans and emerging talent, showcasing the depth within the Canadian program. Notable inclusions are captain Christine Sinclair, Shelina Zadorsky, and Jessie Fleming. The squad also features players from a variety of professional leagues across North America and Europe.
