Arc Raiders Server Slam: Player Count Soars Before Launch

Arc Raiders Servers Strained as Playtest Draws‍ Nearly 100,000 Players

The free-to-play weekend playtest for Arc Raiders has launched to ‌a massive⁣ influx of players, with concurrent player counts nearing 100,000 ‍within the first two hours. This server slam represents the final ‌prospect for players to experience the third-person extraction shooter⁣ before its full release on October 30th,⁣ priced at‍ £30.99 / $39.99 ⁣/ €39.99.

The test is designed to stress-test the game’s servers in preparation for launch. Arc Raiders previously underwent a public test in April, but assessing its popularity was complicated by its ⁤multi-platform availability.

Current player numbers are⁤ already exceeding those seen during the⁤ open beta for ⁢ Dune:⁢ Awakening, which peaked at approximately 150,000 concurrent users‌ on‍ Steam during its launch. While not reaching the scale‌ of the Battlefield⁣ 6 open ⁣beta – which saw 250,000 players waiting in⁣ queues⁤ – Arc ⁤Raiders’ performance suggests strong⁢ player‌ interest.

Arc Raiders competes in the extraction shooter ⁣genre alongside titles like Escape ⁤From Tarkov, slated‍ for a Steam release in November, and the currently delayed Marathon.

The playtest⁤ is available on PC via ⁢Steam and⁣ Epic, Xbox, and ‍PS5. Progress made during the‍ test will not carry over⁢ to the full game.
