Arc Raiders Servers Strained as Playtest Draws Nearly 100,000 Players
The free-to-play weekend playtest for Arc Raiders has launched to a massive influx of players, with concurrent player counts nearing 100,000 within the first two hours. This server slam represents the final prospect for players to experience the third-person extraction shooter before its full release on October 30th, priced at £30.99 / $39.99 / €39.99.
The test is designed to stress-test the game’s servers in preparation for launch. Arc Raiders previously underwent a public test in April, but assessing its popularity was complicated by its multi-platform availability.
Current player numbers are already exceeding those seen during the open beta for Dune: Awakening, which peaked at approximately 150,000 concurrent users on Steam during its launch. While not reaching the scale of the Battlefield 6 open beta – which saw 250,000 players waiting in queues – Arc Raiders’ performance suggests strong player interest.
Arc Raiders competes in the extraction shooter genre alongside titles like Escape From Tarkov, slated for a Steam release in November, and the currently delayed Marathon.
The playtest is available on PC via Steam and Epic, Xbox, and PS5. Progress made during the test will not carry over to the full game.
