Breaking: nothing is working to enable AirDrop compatibility on its phones following Google’s recent proclamation of cross-platform sharing between Android‘s Quick Share and Apple’s AirDrop. While Google’s initial rollout is limited to the Pixel 10 family, nothing founder and CEO Carl Pei revealed on November 20, 2025, that the company is actively investigating implementation for its devices.
“AirDrop is now compatible with Android! This is the kind of progress we need to see,” Pei posted on X (formerly Twitter). “We’re already exploring how to bring this to Nothing phones as soon as we can.”

Google’s current implementation aims for seamless sharing; files sent from an Android device appear in Quick Share, and those from an Apple device appear in AirDrop, requiring no additional steps from the user. Nothing’s approach will likely seek to replicate this ease of use, though details remain scarce. Google has previously launched features exclusively on its Pixel phones before wider android adoption, but has not yet confirmed if this will be the case with AirDrop compatibility.
