Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” at La Scala, Milan
From November 8th to 13th, La Scala in Milan will present Mozart’s opera “Così fan tutte.” the production is conducted by Alexander Soddy and directed by Robert carsen, marking Carsen’s first time directing this particular opera.
The cast includes Elsa Dreisig as Fiordiligi, Nina van Essen as Dorabella, Sandrine Piau as Despina, Luca Micheletti as guglielmo, Giovanni Sala as Ferrando, and Gerald Finley as Don Alfonso.
Carsen’s new production offers “a daring investigation into human nature in the times of the entertainment society,” drawing parallels to modern reality shows like “Temptation Island,” “Love is Blind,” and “Too Hot to Handle,” which place individuals in simulated scenarios to test their relationships.
Prior to each performance, Claudio Toscani will host an introductory talk in the Ridotto of the boxes, one hour before curtain. The opera will also be available to view on Raiplay (Rai5) until November 13th.
