White House Denies Report of Potential Commutation for Diddy Combs
Washington D.C. – The white House has vehemently denied a report claiming former President Donald Trump is considering commuting the prison sentence of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The denial comes after TMZ reported, citing a “White House insider,” that trump was “vacillating” on whether to extend a recent clemency trend following his weekend commutation of former Congressman george Santos.
Combs, 55, is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted on two charges related to transportation for the purposes of prostitution. He was previously acquitted of more serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.
A White House spokesperson dismissed the TMZ report as “entirely fraudulent,” stating, “There is zero truth to the TMZ report, which we would’ve gladly explained had they reached out before running their fake news.” The spokesperson emphasized that the final decision on pardons and commutations rests solely with the President, not anonymous sources.
The TMZ report suggested internal White House staff were advising against a commutation, but that Trump “will do what he wants.” This echoes concerns raised after the swift pardon of Santos, a figure widely criticized for his past conduct.
while Combs coudl possibly be released at some point this week, the White House’s strong denial casts doubt on the likelihood of presidential intervention.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
