Star Trek: Voyager – New Strategy Game Offers Roguelike Elements, Flexible Save System
Düsseldorf, germany - The upcoming strategy game based on Star trek: Voyager is generating excitement with a design beliefs that nods to the challenging permadeath structure of titles like FTL: Faster Than Light, while offering players a degree of control over thier progress. Gamexcite CEO Patrick Streppel confirmed the game won’t feature customary permadeath, but allows for a similar experience through its campaign structure and save system.
The game features three difficulty levels, with the middle setting described as “quite tough, with a clear survival touch.” Players will navigate a campaign comprised of twelve sectors, with automatic saves occurring every few minutes. Crucially, the game allows players to rewind to the beginning of any of these twelve sectors within a single save, offering a strategic layer of risk and recovery not typically found in the genre.
This approach aims to capture the tension of a roguelike - the potential for significant setbacks and the need for careful planning – without the frustration of losing hours of progress. The game is currently slated for release and is already attracting significant attention from strategy and Star Trek fans alike.
