National Youth Symphony orchestra to Perform Verdi & Tchaikovsky at Faculty of Law – UBA
BUENOS AIRES – The National Youth Symphony Orchestra “Libertador San Martín” will present a compelling programme of classical music on October 4th at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). The concert, beginning at 6:00 p.m., is free adn open to the public, offering a significant cultural event for the city and the university community.
Under the direction of mario Benzecry, the orchestra will perform selections from Giuseppe Verdi’s “Requiem,” featuring prominent soloists. Baritone Marcelo Iglesias Reynes will perform “Quid sum miser,” while soprano Mónica Ferracani and mezzo-soprano Maria Luisa Merino will join tenor Fermin Prieto for “I will remember” and “Ingemisco.” Prieto will also perform “confutatis,” and Reynes will return for “Offertorius.” The first half of the program will include “2 Dies irae” and “Mors Stupebit” from the “Requiem.” The concert will conclude with Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 36.”
Attendees are encouraged to contribute non-perishable food items during the concert,wich will be donated to “Mama Hogar” (my more friends),a local organization supporting vulnerable populations.
Further concerts are scheduled for Saturday, October 11th, with performances by Camerata Cattaruzzi at 4:00 p.m. and the Universidad del salvador Symphony Orchestra at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at Avda. Figueroa Alcorta 2263, CABA.
