The Sony ULT Field 3 Bluetooth speaker is currently available at Media Markt for 119 euros, including free shipping, marking the lowest price it has reached in the last 90 days, according to COMPUTER BILD.
The portable speaker, designed for use at the beach, parties, or while camping, features a robust build and an extended battery life of up to 15.5 hours. It too includes a power bank function for charging other devices and is both dust and waterproof, boasting an IP67 protection rating. A carrying strap is included despite the speaker weighing over 1.1 kilograms.
COMPUTER BILD’s testing indicated a score of 2.2 out of a possible score, noting the speaker’s straightforward operation and comprehensive app. Reviewers did point to a somewhat unbalanced sound profile and the speaker’s relatively heavy and large form factor as areas for improvement. The sound quality, while strong with the ULT boost function enabled, can be somewhat lacking without it, becoming either too dominant or muffled.
The Sony ULT Field 3 is part of Sony’s ULT Field series, which includes the ULT Field 5 and ULT Tower 9 speakers. It replaces the SRS-XE300 in Sony’s lineup and is smaller and more portable than its counterparts. While it only supports mono playback, it can be connected to other Sony speakers using the Party Connect standard.
