Omaha Metro Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Bus Route Adjustments
Omaha, NE – Metro Transit is soliciting public input on proposed changes to five bus routes, aiming to improve service efficiency and better align with rider demand. The routes under review are 15,20,25,27,and 64.
According to Metro, the proposed adjustments include minor schedule changes and route modifications designed to address issues like on-time performance and connectivity. Specific changes vary by route. such as, Route 25 adjustments focus on improved connections to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
“we want to ensure our bus routes are meeting the needs of our riders and the community,” said Metro spokesperson, in a press release. “Public feedback is crucial to this process.”
A virtual open house is scheduled for february 29,2024,from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Residents can also provide feedback through an online survey available on the Metro website (ometro.com) until March 10, 2024.
Metro Transit serves the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area, operating a fleet of approximately 70 buses across 30 routes. The agency last underwent a comprehensive route review in 2019. The proposed changes are expected to be implemented in April 2024, pending final approval.
