Public’s input sought for changes to five Omaha bus routes

Omaha Metro Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Bus Route Adjustments

Omaha, NE – Metro Transit is soliciting public input ⁤on proposed changes to five bus ‌routes, aiming to ‍improve service efficiency and ⁢better align with rider demand. The routes under review are 15,20,25,27,and 64.

According to​ Metro, the proposed adjustments include minor schedule ⁤changes and‍ route modifications designed to address issues like on-time performance and connectivity. Specific changes vary by⁢ route. ​such as, Route 25⁢ adjustments focus ​on ⁣improved connections to the University of Nebraska ⁢Medical Center.

“we want to ensure our bus routes ⁤are ‍meeting the needs of ‍our riders and the community,” ‌said Metro spokesperson, in a press release. “Public feedback​ is crucial to this process.”

A virtual open house is scheduled for ​february 29,2024,from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Residents can also provide feedback through an online survey available on ‌the Metro website (ometro.com) until March 10, 2024.

Metro Transit serves the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area, operating a fleet⁤ of approximately 70​ buses across 30 routes. The agency last underwent a comprehensive route review in 2019.​ The proposed changes ‍are expected to be implemented in April 2024, pending final approval.
