Michael annett, a former NASCAR driver who competed in the Xfinity Series, has died at the age of 39. The cause of death was not immediately announced.
Annett raced full-time in the Xfinity series from 2014 through 2021, primarily for hscott Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing. His passing is a loss for the NASCAR community, marking the end of a career defined by perseverance and a positive attitude.He leaves behind a wife and two children.
Throughout his career, Annett recorded two xfinity Series wins – at Daytona International Speedway in 2019 and Talladega Superspeedway in 2020 – both coming in races impacted by late-race chaos. He amassed 84 top-10 finishes in 287 career starts.
In 2021, Annett battled a stress fracture in his right leg throughout the season, ultimately retiring at the end of the year. He finished 15th in the championship standings that year.

Prior to his Xfinity Series career, Annett made 29 starts in the NASCAR Cup Series between 2008 and 2013. He is survived by his wife, Jamie, and their two children.
