Nanny Faye Chrisley: A Life of Resilience, Laughter, and Love
Faye Chrisley, affectionately known as “Nanny” to fans of Chrisley Knows Best, is the beloved matriarch of the Chrisley family and the mother of Todd Chrisley. A source of unwavering support and frequently enough hilarious antics, Nanny has captivated audiences with her zest for life and down-to-earth wisdom.

Born in September 1944 in South Carolina, Nanny’s life has been marked by both joy and hardship. She married army veteran Gene Chrisley, and together they raised three sons: Todd, Randy, and Derrick. Sadly, the family experienced the heartbreaking loss of Derrick in infancy, and Gene passed away in 2012.
It was on Chrisley Knows Best that Nanny truly blossomed into a fan favorite. Viewers were charmed by her quick wit, playful spirit – often showcased in memorable moments with her sister Frances (who sadly passed away in 2022) – and candid advice on life and love. whether enjoying a trip to the casino, a glass of wine with friends, or simply spending time with her family, Nanny consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to find joy in everyday moments.
However, Nanny’s life hasn’t been without its challenges. she has navigated the difficulties surrounding the legal troubles of her son, Todd, and daughter-in-law, Julie. In 2021, she received a personal blow with a diagnosis of bladder cancer. Demonstrating the same resilience she’s shown throughout her life, Nanny announced in 2023 that she was in remission.
“I’m in remission, thank God,” she shared on the southern Tea podcast (via People magazine). “I’ve been out moving around, doing the best I can.”
And that, perhaps, is the defining characteristic of Faye Chrisley: a steadfast determination to make the most of whatever life throws her way.
