Miley Cyrus Forgets Lyrics to Her Own Songs – Watch the Hilarious Video!

Miley Cyrus demonstrated a surprising gap in her recollection of lyrics from her extensive discography, including her work as Hannah Montana, during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. While readily identifying some of her biggest hits, the singer stumbled over others, revealing that even two decades of performance don’t guarantee perfect lyrical recall.

Cyrus quickly and confidently named “This Is the Life” as her favorite Hannah Montana song, explaining its significance. “It was the first song I ever cut as Hannah Montana, so now, 20 years later, that it’s still living its best life, that makes me happy,” she said, according to ABC Audio.

“The Best of Both Worlds” also came easily to Cyrus, but she faltered when presented with “He Could Be the One,” prompting a frustrated, “Dude, you said these were easy… What the hell? I don’t frickin’ remember this song.” She also drew a blank on a lyric from Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Recognition returned with “Rock Star,” which Cyrus attributed to its popularity with superfan Alex Cooper, the host of the upcoming Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. “See You Again” was another quick identification, as it marked her first single released under her own name.

Cyrus recovered from a misstep with “Ordinary Girl” to correctly identify “Party in the U.S.A.” and “Hoedown Throwdown.” She also remembered “Always Find Your Way Back Home,” her controversial Bangerz track “We Can’t Stop,” and “Nobody’s Perfect,” a Hannah Montana song she expressed fondness for. The segment concluded, predictably, with “The Climb.”

Reflecting on her time as Hannah Montana, Cyrus stated, “I couldn’t imagine any other destiny for me. It felt like a perfect fit of fate, exactly what I was made to do and built for.”

Footage of Cyrus’s lyrical challenge has circulated online, with clips appearing on YouTube and Facebook, including a video posted to Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Facebook page on May 23, 2025, that had been viewed as recently as March 17, 2026. A shorter version was also shared on YouTube Shorts on May 24, 2025, and on TikTok by Jimmy Kimmel Live.
