MBK Group, through its Golf Business, is expanding healthcare access for its employees, partnering with Winnery Medical Public Company Limited and with the support of the National Health Security Office (NHSO), to offer HPV self-sampling cervical cancer screenings to female caddies and staff aged 30-59. The screenings are being provided free of charge at the Riverdale Golf Club and Bangkok Golf Club.
The initiative aims to improve the quality of life for all MBK personnel, with a particular focus on caddies, who play a crucial role in delivering quality service to golfers. MBK stated the program seeks to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare services.
Pongsak Sappatsen, Managing Director of Riverdale Golf & Country Club Limited, and Kiatisak Ketusiri, General Manager of MBK Golf Management Limited, welcomed Arpasur Boonyasit, Sales and Marketing Manager of Winnery Medical Public Company Limited, during a visit to the screening event.
The HPV self-sampling method allows individuals to collect their own samples privately and conveniently, eliminating the need for a clinical examination. This method detects infections at an early stage, even before symptoms appear, enabling timely monitoring or treatment and increasing the chances of successful recovery. The self-collection process also addresses potential barriers to healthcare access, particularly for women who may find it difficult to travel to hospitals or have privacy concerns.
The three-day event has been well-received by caddies and female staff. Malinee Natee, a caddie at Bangkok Golf Club, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Thank you to the management for recognizing the importance of caddies and supporting these health screenings. In the past, going to the hospital for a check-up would capture a whole day, making it inconvenient for many. But having the company organize the screening at the golf course makes it much easier for us. The staff providing the service gave excellent advice, and the screening process was not complicated, making me perceive comfortable and willing to use the self-collection method.”
Jan Nanadee, also a caddie at Bangkok Golf Club, added, “I am happy and impressed that the company cares about the health of the caddies. The staff providing the screening and advice were polite, spoke kindly, and provided detailed information. Normally, caddies function all the time and rarely have time to go for health check-ups. The company’s facilitation and organization of the screening here makes me feel that the management values us and treats us like part of the organization. I am very impressed and grateful.”
Kanya Kaewplongam, a caddie from Riverdale Golf Club, said, “I feel good that the course provides health benefits for caddies. This screening explained the process in detail, making it feel less scary than I thought. I would like to invite all women to secure screened for cervical cancer due to the fact that it is a close-to-home issue. I would also like to thank the management for supporting this good activity and hope that they will organize screenings like this every year so that those who missed the screening this year will have the opportunity to be screened next time.”
MBK Group believes that prioritizing the health of its employees is fundamental to quality work and a key component of organizational development and improving the quality of life for all staff.
