María José Campanario Donates Prize Money to Illness Research NGO

María José Campanario, a contestant on the Antena 3 program El Desafío, has chosen to donate a portion of her winnings to an organization dedicated to researching the illness she personally battles, with the assistance of fellow competitor Jessica Goicoechea. Goicoechea ceded her prize money to Eva Soriano, enabling Campanario to make the donation.

“It’s not thanks to me,” Campanario stated, expressing gratitude to her colleagues for their generosity. She explained that the organization she intends to support “gives visibility to people with illnesses like mine.”

Campanario is participating in the sixth edition of El Desafío alongside other celebrities including Willy Bárcenas, Daniel Illescas, José Yélamo, Patricia Conde, and Eduardo Navarrete, as confirmed by Atresmedia in February 2025. The program, hosted by Roberto Leal, currently averages a 15.2% audience share, reaching an average of 1.508 million viewers per episode.

Prior to competing on El Desafío, Campanario gained public recognition for her appearance as “Ovejita” (Little Sheep) on the show Mask Singer and for her participation in Emparejados. Eduardo Navarrete previously appeared on the fifth season of El Desafío, showcasing his flamenco skills before joining the cast as a full contestant.

The sixth season of El Desafío is being described by Antena 3 as its “most dangerous edition” yet.
