Chilean drivers are finding new ways to save on fuel costs this March, as a range of discounts and cashback offers are being rolled out by banks and gas stations across the country. The promotions, designed to ease the burden of rising family expenses, offer reductions per liter of gasoline when paying with specific bank cards or through mobile applications.
Copec, one of Chile’s leading gas station chains, is offering a variety of discounts tied to different payment methods and days of the week. Customers using CopecPay, the company’s mobile application, receive a $10 discount per liter every day. Those with a Cencosud Scotiabank card linked to the Copec app can access a discount of up to $100 per liter on Mondays. Banco Internacional cardholders (Mastercard Clásica, Gold, or Black) receive a $100 per liter discount on Tuesdays when using the Copec app. Scotiabank credit card holders (Visa) benefit from a $100 per liter discount on Wednesdays via the app. Banco BCI credit card users can receive a discount equivalent to $100 per liter, or 7% cashback, on Thursdays when paying through the Copec app. Finally, Tenpo users can access discounts starting at $50 per liter on Fridays when paying through the application, and Machbank credit users get $100 off per liter on Saturdays, while Bice Limitless cardholders receive $100 off per liter on Sundays, all through the Copec app.
Shell stations are likewise participating, offering discounts linked to specific cards and their Micopiloto app. Lider Bci cardholders receive $100 off per liter every Tuesday, limited to two monthly charges, when using the Micopiloto app. WOM customers can get a $50 discount per liter on Wednesdays with a code obtained through the WOM application, allowing for up to two charges per month and a maximum of 36 liters per charge. Banco Bice cardholders receive $100 off per liter on Sundays when using the Micopiloto app, capped at $5,000 per month. Banco Security offers a $100 per liter discount every Sunday, also with a $5,000 per charge limit. Shell also provides a birthday benefit of $50 off per liter for Micopiloto app users during the seven days following their birthday, limited to a single 70-liter charge.
Aramco stations are also providing discounts based on card type and app usage. Banco Consorcio credit cardholders receive $100 off per liter, or $150 when paying through the Aramco Estaciones app, with a monthly limit of $8,000 for physical payments and $10,000 through the app. Mercado Pago users can get $50 off per liter every Tuesday when using a physical or digital prepaid card, capped at $5,000 at participating stations. Banco Ripley offers discounts varying by customer category on Wednesdays when paying with a physical card through the Aramco Estaciones app: $100 for Plus category, $125 for Silver, and $150 for Gold, with a monthly limit of $8,000. ABC cardholders can receive $150 off per liter on Thursdays, capped at $10,000 per month. Tenpo credit or prepaid card users can access discounts between $50 and $300 per liter on Fridays when paying through the Aramco Estaciones app, with a $4,000 limit per Friday and a maximum of two transactions per month with a minimum purchase of $5,000. SBPay cardholders receive $100 off per liter on Saturdays with a physical credit card or $150 per liter using the Aramco Estaciones app, with Prime customers able to use the benefit Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, capped at $10,000 per month. Finally, Spin Visa credit cardholders or those using the Aramco Estaciones app can get $150 off per liter on Sundays, with a monthly limit of $10,000.
