KIMES 2026: AI & Healthcare Industry Convergence – Korea’s Largest Medical Expo

The 41st International Medical Device & Hospital Equipment Exhibition (KIMES 2026) opened in Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday, with a pronounced focus on artificial intelligence and digital healthcare solutions, according to participating companies.

The annual event, held at the COEX convention center from March 19th to 22nd, is the largest of its kind in South Korea. This year’s iteration features a fresh keynote program intended to position the exhibition as a “convergence platform” combining technology and business strategy, rather than a simple showcase, reported The Public.

Dongah Pharm. Co.’s medical device affiliate, Dongah Medical, is participating with a large-scale booth demonstrating its ENT (ear, nose and throat) equipment, as well as infection control products. The company will also participate in the 2026 Global Medical Device Export Consultation (GMEP 2026) alongside KIMES, aiming to secure business meetings with overseas buyers and expand its global market presence, according to a press release.

Dongah Medical plans to unveil two new products at the exhibition: the V1 Smart Pro flexible video endoscope, scheduled for release in May 2026, and the New Qvion all-in-one imaging system, slated for a January 2027 launch. The V1 Smart Pro features an ergonomic, symmetrical handle design and dual fiber optic illumination to enhance visibility during procedures. It also incorporates Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) technology and a heat dissipation structure to maintain stable image quality during extended employ.

The New Qvion system integrates imaging and light source equipment into a single unit, offering flexibility in placement – it can be used with a dedicated cart or on existing ENT examination tables. Notably, it supports both rigid and flexible endoscopes, increasing operational versatility, according to Yakup.com.

The opening of KIMES 2026 signals a heightened competitive landscape within the medical device industry, particularly regarding AI-based EMR (electronic medical record) systems, imaging equipment, and infection control solutions, as reported by Seoulwire. Several major companies, including Dongah Medical, Ostem Implant, and Ubicare, are participating in the event.
