Jeonbuk Hyundai Signs Youth Player Kim Ye-geon to Pre-Contract or Jeonbuk Hyundai’s Kim Ye-geon Signs Promising Pre-Professional Deal

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Football Club has signed Kim Ye-geon, a midfielder from Jeonbuk Hyundai U18 Jeonju Youngsaeng High School, to a pre-professional contract, the club announced Tuesday.

The 2008-born player has been recognized for his exceptional talent and potential since joining Jeonbuk Hyundai U15 Dongdae Middle School, according to a club statement. Kim has consistently contributed to the development of the Jeonbuk youth system, demonstrating notable performance in national-level competitions.

Kim’s progression to Jeonbuk Hyundai U18 saw him establish himself as a key player, and he currently serves as a central midfielder for the South Korean U-17 national team. He has played a significant role in major international tournaments, including the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup and the FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he has been described as a “midfield commander,” according to the club.

Jeonbuk Hyundai’s decision aligns with its established “Jeonbuk Youth-Jeonbuk N-Team-Jeonbuk A-Team Connection System,” designed to integrate promising young players into the professional ranks. The club intends to provide Kim with early exposure to the professional environment, maximizing his competitive potential.

“I am honored to sign a pre-professional contract with Jeonbuk Hyundai, the best club I have always admired,” Kim said in a statement released by the club. “I am grateful to the coaches and the club who have helped me grow step by step since my days at Geumsan Middle School. As a pre-professional player, I will take responsibility, learn from my seniors, and become a player who brings joy to the fans on the pitch at Jeonju Stadium.”

Jeonbuk Hyundai’s Director Lee Do-hyun stated, “Kim Ye-geon is a player who has been recognized for his growth potential from a young age and has consistently developed through the Jeonbuk youth system. We plan to continue providing systematic support so that he can fully demonstrate his potential on the professional stage.”

Kim will participate in training and matches with the Jeonbuk N-Team as he transitions to professional football. He recently joined the team for pre-season training in Bali, Indonesia, according to reports.
