Hot Box Sauna Profits Surge to €928K as Expansion Continues

Post-tax profits at the firm behind The Hot Box Sauna almost tripled to €928,306 in the year to the complete of August 2025, according to newly filed accounts. The surge in profitability at Lidoc Experiences Ltd, the company operating the popular outdoor sauna business, represents a significant increase from the €332,931 profit recorded in the prior year.

The financial results, which show accumulated profits reaching €1.39 million, reflect a period of rapid expansion for The Hot Box Sauna, coinciding with growing interest in sauna culture across Ireland. Cash funds held by the company increased dramatically, rising from €46,227 to €1.25 million over the same period.

Investment in property, plant and equipment also rose sharply, increasing from €563,597 to €1.4 million, indicating a commitment to expanding the company’s physical infrastructure. This expansion has been accompanied by a significant increase in staffing levels, with the number of employees growing from 19 to 35.

Remuneration for directors also saw a substantial increase, rising from €192,150 to €332,160. The accounts also detail non-cash depreciation costs of €227,552, up from €93,163 in the previous year.

The Hot Box Sauna currently operates from eight locations across Ireland, including sites in Cork, Meath, Sligo, and multiple locations in Dublin. The company recently opened a flagship operation at Boland’s Mills in Dublin’s Docklands, a €2 million investment on land owned by Google Ireland.

Dublin City Council recently granted planning permission for planning retention for five saunas and three plunge pools at a Hot Box Sauna unit on Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8, following a wave of support from local users. The company also has a pending planning retention application before Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for its sauna operation adjacent to Killiney beach, with a decision expected soon.

Founded in 2021 by Dan O’Connor, Luke Williams and Liam Irwin, The Hot Box Sauna began as a self-built sauna trailer in County Meath. O’Connor stated last year that the company’s business model was “scalable” and that he envisioned The Hot Box becoming “a name synonymous with world-class sauna experiences” globally.

The Killiney Beach Hot Box Sauna comprises two saunas, changing rooms, a reception desk and outdoor showers, and is located adjacent to a mobile coffee van, ‘Fred & Nancy’s Killiney’.
